DEPESHA magazine held a fundraising reception and silent fashion auction on May 21st at Helen Yarmak Showroom to benefit Russian Childrens Welfare Society.

A showcase, supported by Rootstein mannequins, of donated fashions and accessories, was an instant hit among NYC socialites. In a short presentation Stephan Rabimov, Editor-in-Chief of DEPESHA magazine, thanked those who had stepped forward to support work of RCWS. He added, We are particularly touched that designers from all corners of the world answered our call to help Russian children. From Germany to Dominican Republic, from USA to Denmark, these designers have donated their best for the auction. Beauty and fashion companies have also been very generous in their support of such a worthwhile cause. We are particularly thankful to Helen Yarmak, Sandy Blye and her staff for sponsoring this incredible venue and continued support; to Emblem Health as our main sponsor, as well as organizations that donated their products, services and time to make this event a total success: Alchemia Polish Vodka, Boyland Soda, Overtime.com, Warren-Tricomi, MainRussian.com, Lumesh, Voga Wines, Planet Style Concierge, Ty-Ku, Seven Bar & Grill, New York Health & Raquet Club, and Etiqueta Negra.

Highlights of the silent auction included beautiful one-of-a-kind fashion pieces from collections of Helen Yarmak (Russia), Custo Barcelona (Spain), Doo.Ri (USA), Alessandro Dell'Acqua (Italy), Delirius (Belarus), Lac et Mel (Germany), Tabula Rasa (USA), Ports 1961 (USA), Shapavalova (Russia), Hernan Lander (Dominican Republic), Adrienne Landau (USA), David Engler (Germany), Kat Basics (USA), as well as luxury accessories from EmreNY (USA), Inna Design (USA), Malan Breton (USA), Scholl (Germany), Anja Bruhn (Germany), and luxury beauty package from Warren-Tricomi Salons. A special luxury champagne bottle Rare was donated by Piper-Heidsieck Champagne.

Funds raised during Depesha silent auction will cover a reconstructive surgery for one child with facial deformities.

Over 250 guests attended this event including, Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen (The Real Housewives of New York City), Stephan Rabimov (Editor-in-Chief of DEPESHA magazine), Malan Breton (Designer), Sandy Blye (General Manager of Helen Yarmak - US), Anna Sergeeva-Gross (Director of Russian Children's Welfare Society), Vladimir Fekula (President of Russian Children's Welfare Society) and Beatrice Fekula, Zorana Fabre and Maria Tiu (Vertu), Cognac Wellerlane (Socialite), Tia Walker (Socialite), Amanda Lepore (Performer), and Polina (Performer).

Russian Childrens Welfare Society
Founded in 1926, the Russian Childrens Welfare Society (RCWS) is dedicated to improving the lives of children at risk in Russia by supporting orphanages, hospitals, homeless shelters, rehabilitation centers for disabled children, educational scholarships (currently we have 42 students), and a major New Year party in Moscow for over 2,000 disadvantaged children. RCWS relies on private donations and special events such as Annual Petroushka Ball to support its various programs. www.rcws.org
