The reason people critisize is probably because they know what 'music'' is and they know what being a musician' is. This "playing fast" before you can play "good" is a joke. I mean that is NOT music. It should not be about speed. At least until it becomes good. I guess If you have NO "musicianship" ya might as well try to go "real fast" because others with no "musicianship" will like it too. This new "speed" and blast beats are ruining a great instrument with noise.

Keep up your 80 bpm grooves and leave the real dedicated extreme drummers alone. They're just using their talent and taking a huge challenge with a shit load of discipline you will never get. Cia.

How the fuck can you criticize this guy? Holy shit dude is good. I mean, no one is George Kollias but yes this dude is amazing. The reason why GK is above anyone else is because I've never seen anyone one foot blast half as good. I mean, 270bpm blasts with one foot? How talented do you need to be?

@rsman169 Idid not mean to critisise the player. Hes great. P.S. the only thing you like about it, is that its FAST. If you took any other insturment and just played basic, basic music, BUT you played it at 270 bpm, it would make you all exited. LOL Would it make the guy super talented ?. I am NOT against speed. I just think when it comes to drums, people (Not all musicians) think it has to be FAST. It IS a musical instument. I just say speed comes second to musicianship

@Doneyear Yeah I should have said that from the start. I never put down musicians. Well at least I thought I never did. Maybe I was on something. LOL. Or just plain jealous of the speed. Yeah, my main point was I sometimes thing "dynamics" and musicianship is getting lost when it comes to the drums. I just hope the old school drummers and styles that I love do not get forgotten. LOL.

@jordanjcm Oh if that's the case, then yes I agree with you. I happen to see a lot of younger people focus just on speed when they need to learn to accent properly, and also use finesse to some degree, though I do like metal drumming a lot myself. And there still is a lot more to drums than this, it just happens to be that metal is getting more marketable drummers, so there is a lot of people wanting to be Kollias and just think it's all speed.

@Doneyear  I apologize for "insulting". That was ignorant. I'm not 'against' fast. Play 500 bpm. Thats great. I should have said: too many Young drummers focus on speed ONLY. It should NOT be JUST about speed. Music is also not a competition, like the olympics. Im not against blast beats, in fact Im not bad at it. (they take alot out of you, LOL) I am just saying there is way more to drums then that. At least there used to be. I wish I did not put this down. (Sorry)

@jordanjcm I'm sorry but your ignorance really shows here. So what, blasting is not ideal to everyone, and I will say speed isn't everything, but do you know the time and effort it takes to get up to this speed. Jan was correct that you need enormous amounts of discipline dedication to get to this level. So really, stop hating on somebody who can do something you can't. Also, the whole "it isn't music" is complete bullshit. Everything is music.

Dont't freak out because you know I am right and that the video is 5 years old. "hyperblast"? LOL. So if you play badly it does not matter as long as it is fast? God I hope someone does not start doing this with guitar or piano etc etc.

Some talentless guy realizes I can't play,  so, if I do something "fast", maybe no one will notice because they will think it is fast and morons think "fast is good", and there is a lot of morons" LOL.
