Yes, the shelters and seed collection are real but not for any elite group of people but for mankind, in case of a devastating event. Would you prefer no one prepared anything for such a thing? I wouldn't. As for food and metals, that's a personal choice but there is no way in hell that other countries who depend on us to buy for their economy will stop sending us food. and no way in hell would food stop growing here in the US.
