This yirdaki was made by Don Guyuwuru Gumana and gifted to Syd Wilson who lived in Gove and worked for Nabalco in the 1970s.

The surface patination of this yirdaki is superb, acquired through constant use and handling. The mouthpiece area is dark and oily as would be expected of an instrument that has been used ceremonially.

I love the rustic nature of this instrument with azde marks covering its entire surface. As for its voice, listen to Adam Marrilaga do his thing as only he can!
