  • @MrChrisl182 The time it takes for the firefighters to extinguish the fire is not indicative of actual procedure. This effectively demonstrates that dry chem extinguishers don't work well with grease fires of this nature. It may quickly stop flaming, as in the video, but it does not cover the grease, excluding oxygen, and allows for rapid re-ignition. You need to either completely cover the grease, or remove sufficient heat to lower the it below its autoignition temperature, as was done here.

  • i think we need to have more intense training for firefighters. if thats their job and it takes him that long to put out a fire. why do i pay my taxes......

    Fire blankets are only meant for putting out *small* kitchen or wastebasket fires. They're not "fireproof" (nothing really is) and can burn, but the material they're made of will not burn on it's own, and will stop burning once the source of the fire dies down.

  • if im not mistaken that fire blanket appears to be on fire O_O 6:00

  • was the fighter aiming at the base of the fire?
