  • Telling someone with GAD to worry later is like telling someone to go swimming without getting wet.

  • This guy isn't a real doctor, is he?

  • The entire point of this disorder is that you cannot help when you worry and the intensity to which you worry. To "make the decision to worry later" is to ask the very mind that has this 'handicap' (for lack of a better term) to override it's own problem. That's like asking a paralyzed person to simply help themselves out of their wheelchair.

I call bullshit. Much MUCH better advise and treatment out there than this.

  • wow i don't suffer from GAD, but as a student in a social work program, this is the a big issue dealing with psychologists and doctors.... insensitive much?

  • Completely unhelpful!!! He talks about it as if you can just rationalise yourself out of this disorder! "Just tell yourself to worry later", yah right, like thats helpful! If you could do that than you wouldnt even have it in the first place!!! I have, and rationalising does not help! Therapy works, cos it actually helps you to uncover the reason thar causes anxiety and thus to overcome it!

  • easy for him to say...he doesnt know shit about GAD....I've been suffering from it for appx 8 yrs! So insensitive...

  • i dont thing he know much on anxiety because i have gad and he did not say much on gad at all only a person who have gad will no

  • if people who have GAD tend to worry about the things normal people do in life just a stronger worry and like i've found on many sites about GAD how do you suppose that you should be able to control it and say its not the time to worry about this now. i personally have GAD and find that when i start to have these anxiety spurts they are uncontrollable and usually end up thinking that that point in time is the only time to worry about my problem.

  • I don't have to pay for a medical appointment to hear this kind of "hints". Any grandma can give the same type of advice, or even better!!

  • easy said than is done
