Welcome to my tutorial for MMF2 or TGF2.

Sometime soon I'll upload a video with more examples of events, I'd appreciate feedback from anybody who's learning to use this program. What could improve this tutorial? Which areas need more explaining?

Download the Multimedia Fusion 2 demo here

Download the tutorial in text format, for those who can't understand my voice

Here is a large community you can upload your games to / ask questions about making games

http://www.create-games.com/

There is a video for you to watch before this one, it isn't essential but it will help you to find your way around.

Setting up - 0:05
Moving objects - 0:29
Drawing objects - 1:17
Useful object types - 2:06
Object property hints - 3:32
'Coding' your game - 4:48
Playtesting - 8:22

Here's a list of useful object types

Active Any moving or animated object in the game
Backdrop Like Active, but it doesnt move or anything.
Counter For numbers or health bars.
Lives It I use counters instead of this, because its more flexible.
Quick Backdrop For gradients or looping backgrounds. You only need 1 or 2 of these to cover a large area.
String For writing and text.

And here's my website

  • How to make an object where it goes to the next level?

  • @theplock99 Watch my 'TGF2 - Creating and changing levels' video.

  • i want to make a dance game in which you have to use arrow keys to play it and score points etc...could you suggest what animation button to use or how can i go about on this, really new at this mmf2 stuff. Thanks if you could help.

  • @aisumi123 Ehh.... not the easiest thing to explain in a youtube comment. Use an active object for each button, make an event for each so that when you press a button on the keyboard, it will switch one of the buttons on-screen to an animation that shows that it's been pressed, then you'll need to have moving objects going down the screen and when they collide with the lit-up buttons at the bottom (and their 'played' animation is playing), it adds points to a counter. That's it in a nutshell.

  • Does it work on Windows 7?

  • @DasJTR17LP Yes
