  • Indian money+indian people building the car+Indian Ideas= Indian car

Indian money+british people building the car+British Ideas= BRITISH CAR

Just because Jaguar is owned by Tata doesn't mean it's indian as how Lamborghini is Italian despite owned by German company audi.

YOU EDUCATED PEOPLE should understand the fact that as long as it is created by the british, it will never be Indian. The owner AND THE MONEY is but the one behind those creations aren't.

    THE END!

  • U cannot discredit TATA that easy buddy. TATA is pumping so much money into Jaguar and Land Rover is the only reason Jaguar is able to come up with such bold and new designs for their frontline cars. If it wasnt for TATA Jaguar would have had to say TATA to their brand for good.

  • @TheGaape And since we're on the topic, Jaguar Land Rover's plans might involve parent company TATA in their future developments. For instance, they're planning on using TATA steel instead of aluminum as they claim the steel to be just as strong and light.

If they did follow their plans, I'd consider the Anglo-Indian relationship.

  • @TheGaape I'm going to stick to my opinion -___________-

It's just like saying BMW is American because some of the BMWs are built there and as far as I know, Jaguars are still built in Britain so they're still British unless they choose to manufacture them in India.

But really, it's not manufacturing alone. Such cars can be manufactured anywhere. What's important is how the cars are being developed and who are those involved in the development (i.e. the brains behind the development).

  • @TheGaape Aston Villa IS the team, not a player! Randy Lerner is the American owner. Does that make Aston Villa an American football team?

  • @RedRocket1987 When Tata bought jaguar they were in $1.2 Billion dollars in loss... I wonder why they're not anymore.. hmmmmm they were bought over in 2007 and jaguar started doing better after that... Tata pulled it out from the losses and based on your comment.. And as owners the final decision on production and approval is still by tata... and YES ownership does count... Aston Villa might not be an american player but he plays for an american team and when he scores the team wins not him...

  • @mondeost2202008 A year too late but your definition the iphone is chinese... wohoo.. Because its made in china.... ownership matters as much if not more than anything... Tomorrow if i was to buy and own ferrari (HYPOTHETICAL before you start raging out on that) no matter where it was made and no matter who got the ideas it would still be MINE. So the same way... no matter who gets the idea... no matter who makes them and no matter where they are made... IT IS INDIAN

  • Jaguar is and will always be a British brand. No matter who owns it. My favourite football team (Aston Villa) is currently owned by a yank (Randy Lerner). Does that make Aston Villa an American football team playing in the Premiership? I think not! It's not about who owns it to make it what it is.

Jaguar has far too much motoring heritage to now be considered Indian simply for the fact it's owned by Tata. Tata are just in it because they know Jaguar sell.

  • @rekycheky I'll have to agree about that though but its not only Jaguar. I've seen a couple of BMWs and Mercs with the same problem but whenever I do see one that is well painted, I can't help but stare but then again any car with a really shiny paintjob makes me look especially those civic sedans with metallic paint and xenon healights in our place. Mind you, they're Asian spec civics with the standard body. Just well painted.

I don't know why but I don't find silver quite attractive.

  • @rekycheky Not all BMWs are bad. Yes the Xs are stupid and the 7 series looks awful and the 1 series is odd along with the even more pointless 1m and the 3 Series/M3 is just too cocky despite it having the performance but I really like the new z4 and 5 series in fact, I just like them the way they are. No M version for me and that means something. The Mini though is a good modern interpretation of an original like the new Fiat 500 or the Volkswagen Beetle.

  • @mondeost2202008 Sometimes when I look at Jags I think to myself why don t the owners give it a decent polish, the paint is so blury, clowdy, blunt. But then I ask myself perhaps the quality of the paint is not so good and you can t get them shining for that reason.
