@tomboy2081 I think you haven't read George Martin's interview 'bout that song: it was only written by John! I will tell you 'bout Martin's statement: he told them, that John never lived in that real world, he always wanted to be in a world full of dreams and piece. so he changed that military-place to such an idyllic one!

@Raphilan "Strawberry Fields" was an orphanage John used to hang around when he was a kid. The song was written by both John and Paul (though mostly John), it's about their childhood. "Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.", those lines are about a child's point of view.

this is one of the greates videos I've ever seen. I mean John wrote that song 'bout some army-place in Liverpool and it's just as fantastic as John's idea to write such a genius song about it
