Ten commandments ordered away from Dixie County Court House

Some Dixie County residents are furious because a federal judge ruled last week a statue of the ten commandments must be removed from county court house entrance because it violated the separation of church and state laid out in the U.S. Constitution.

when i took the oath of allgience to my country, and was sworn in as a UNITED STATES MARINE, at the end of this i affirmed "SO HELP ME GOD". i am proud of that oath, my service to the greatest country on earth and am disgusted at the selective use of such, manipulated to fit the whim's and fancy of those whom besmirch it. i'll say it, god help us all; whom beleive this is the chosen land.

The Liberty Bell has a Bible verse written across the top. Should we remove that, too, least some people get offended and furious over it?

Freedom of religion guarantees you the right to not be forced by law to recognize a religion and to be free to practice your own or have none at all. It does *NOT* guarantee you won't be offended by someone's religion. That's a personal problem.

I say the hell with the Federal Judge and his ruling. This a statue in a COUNTY court on STATE property. The Establishment clause was intended to limit and restrain the FEDERAL Government from establishing a national church, like England and their Anglican Church with the King being the head. Keep the statue there and let the Federal Government try and take it off. If they don't understand the First Amendment maybe they'll understand the Second.
