My first upload got blocked in the US and who knows where else because I used a most excellent tune by Black Sabbath in the intro. So here we go again, my thoughts on the nature of evil and the change in The Rede concerning evil spirits.

  • I completely agree!!!

  • @zosgoat93 I agree. Crowley and Gardner were in correspondence with each other and the literary similarities are too great to ignore. Gardner was in a researching/borrowing phase and although the meaning of the Rede is quite different from the Law no doubt it was the inspiration for the Rede.

  • evil, to me, is only to describe verbs, not nouns, if it were in use. personally i like to use negative rather than evil because evil isnt a pagan concept like you said. evil and negativity is doing destruction for the sake of destroying things, rather than doing destruction for the sake of make room for positive things and life. thats my view on evil and may you blessed be!

  • Great points! On Crowley's contribution (or Aiwass' authorship as Thelemites would say) in the Rede, please see the doc "Thelemic Origins of Wicca" which details the dilution of sections in Liber AL into Gardner's version of the Rede.

  • Good points about our not taking pagan "scripture" that seriously, DR. I always enjoy visiting other circles to see what prose they use and what is similar and different from what I use. I can see that for those who are used to words carved in stone that is very different. I'd never heard "unwelcome" or "unwanted" but they didn't resonate wrong to me, as I expect our words will shift and change over time. If we even use words. ~Anni~

  • They blocked Black Sabbath?? Talk about evil!! lol Seriously though you can get around that with a great free program called Audacity. If anybody wants more info just ask me, I would be more than happy to help.

  • Another excellent video, DR!
