Certain things have certain properties, this is why all wheels are round. It is this property that is useful and that is why we do not see square wheels. It does not mean all wheels evolved from a single wheel, it means that the function suited the need. This is not common ancestry but simple physics. And just as a wheel has more than one useful property, the same can be seen in nature and its use of useful structures. It could just as well be a common creator as a common ancestor.

I think with the creationists, the Genesis story gives them a type of pretend certainty. The Bible crowd thinks they know the truth.

I just heard this in an evolution documentary with Bill Nye. In biology, it's very difficult to prove something.

Part of what rattles the creationists is it's so complex compared to Genesis. They're not good with complexity and the proof is impressive but not absolutely proven going way back. They like simple and they want YOU to be that simple too, like vegans.

@HackneyEquine There's evidence in genetics for the single common ancestor. In the early days of evolution there was significant horizontal gene transfer between emerging species.

You might want to checkout the phenomena of the "molecular clock", which geneticists use to build a history of speciation.

@rkyeun all forms of religion is a lie. remember god didnt write anything "holy" men did. even though its not really "holy" all that stuff was written before man had microscopes and modern technology. now after education we can see that its unlogical to believe in god. the problem today with humans is that most of us stop at religion and shut down our mind and dont try to learn anything else about our true past. relgion is greatly outdated bullshit i cant believe people die over books.
