Lakewood Colorado Hail Storm July 2009

This was a view from our kitchen into our backyard during the storm. I have never experienced anything like this before.

i was in a car when that tornado hit. it was the craziest thing i've ever seen! and like 2 weeks later we had the worst rain ever! i flooded our basement! wtf is happening?! hahaha

I was so glad we were home when it hit! I can only imagine what would have happened if it had hit during rush hour. The insurance company said we had $9200.00 worth of damage on one of our vehicles and $3800.00 on the other!

Yep I was in the middle of that one too. It came out of nowhere--paintball sized hail coming in dreadfully fast, sideways and heavy (the welts on my body proved the size.) The ground looked snow covered from a distance, but up close it was like standing in an ice machine.

The front of my house looked bullet riddled the next day - broken windows, siding, roof.

I hope it doesn't happen again this year...my tomatoes are doing too well and already survived a pea-sized hailstorm a few weeks ago!

i was in lakewood when the tornado hit. i was home alone and i just watched the tornado from the window while i was crying. haha. i was in shock and i couldnt move. it was an amazing experience though.

This is was a bad storm, I got my daughter so scared cause I said " a tornado is coming down" she pee'd her pants. This was really scary. A week a lady after this storm hit lighting hit a huge tree near by sent bark flying all over the street. Although they said this was good for contractors and our economy...

That was one wicked storm, my house got hit pretty good, we are at Florida and Garrison
