I've always liked foreign films because I never get distracted by a familiar face (i.e. Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts...etc). Foreign films allow me to be totally engrossed in the character and film. I also like that, like real life, the endings are bittersweet or a Pyrrhic victory. I don't know why remakes need to be made in English or "go Hollywood" -- Do Americans really not like to read subtitles or take a risk seeing a no name actor? If so they are missing some really great stuff!!

@carr111a I don't like foreign films that much but i can understand why you like them, especially the thing with known actors it happens to me sometimes too. I just felt obliged though to reply that the "Hollywood" or "American" version that recently came out, is really not that Hollywood movie. David Fincher knows how to make movies without making it a Fast Five movie. Plus he kept the storyline just as it is at the book.
