About this video: The Yongsan Retiree Council honored retired Command Sergeant Major Alfred Braswell for his establishment of the first Junior ROTC program in Korea in 1981. He was awarded the councils first ever Icon Award.
Great man and great role model for all of us. I wasn't in JROTC, but I know his support of the school and everyone in it will always be remembered! Well deserved.

He also started my military career. I am currently a LTC in a command at Ft Hood. He is one heck of a guy and has probably positively influenced hundreds of people that went on to military careers.

I spent four years in JROTC from '83-87...the early days. CSM Braswell encouraged me to submit for an ROTC scholarship and it took to me to paid college for four years, led to me being an Army Ranger, and has opened up my world in more ways than I'll ever even realize. He was a true gentleman back then and he's only gotten better with age. My humblest of best wishes and congratulations to a truly great man.
