OpenGL Terrain

This is my Terrain coursework which I did in the 3rd Year of university at Abertay. It uses various different algorthims to procedurally create a terrain and then uses some shaders for the texturing and also for animating the trees and grass. The water is a render to texture with the camera flipped around the water plane.

wow, i bet that was hard to make. Do you code those trees? or get them from a library? i am wanting to get into 3d graphics. Is it best to use a software such as 3d MAX or can you just code all that stuff??
