So far I have not seen that the Muslims actually invented much that was really new. What they appear to have done is taken Roman/Greek inventions/ideas and further developed them, which is not surprising considering that they had a large wealthy civilization. The fact is that no one civilization developed everything. Different groups developed different things and copied from one another. Some even developed the same thing simultaneously.
