The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Corrections and law enforcement agencies statewide, has created a cold case playing card deck. These cards highlight 52 violent unsolved homicide, missing person, and unidentified remains cases that have occurred throughout the state in the past 50 years.

At present, the card decks have been distributed to all 515 police departments and sheriff offices within Minnesota, as well as 75 countywide jail and annex facilities. In addition, over 10,000 decks have been supplied to Minnesota state prison inmates.

The public is also encouraged to take part in the Minnesota cold case playing card initiative by viewing the playing cards online via the links provided below. Of the 52 cases highlighted, 57 individual victims are featured every one of which is someones loved one. Our mission is to raise awareness of these victims in the hopes that it may generate additional information and leads in solving these cold cases.

The playing card cases featured on this website represent a small portion of the numerous cold cases actively being investigated throughout the state by the BCA and local law enforcement agencies. If you have any information regarding the playing card cold cases or additional Minnesota cold cases, please contact the BCA Cold Case Unit via phone, email, or the tip form provided on this site.

Every cold case clue has the potential to bring law enforcement one step closer to obtaining justice for cold case victims and a sense of closure for their surviving family members.

  • @robusti82 MBCA didn't upload this video. I got the info off of Minnesota BCA's website. (Higher quality pdf files.) And made this video. (I have a set of the playing cards, they are designed for jail inmates and police.) I am not involved with law enforcement or jails in any way.

  • It's a shame that the resolution is so poor on the text portion of these cards. BCA: Can this be improved?
