I show you how to partition a hard drive, internal or external, and tips on what to use them for. You do not have to have or buy an extra hard drive to do this, you can partition your internal HD on your Mac as well, for example Bootcamp.   • hey if i want one of my partitions to be used for storing movies, music and stuff like that, do i format it to Mac Os extended(journaled) or Mac Os extended? thanks in advance.

  • i have a 164g external hd and i am wanting to use it for TimeMachine and also to store my iPhoto library. i want as much room as posable on my external to store my pictures. but i don't know what will be enough to use for TimeMachine to back my Mac up. how much would you partition for each?

  • i have a mac book which is only standard. i bought it last may 2011. i tried to install windows 7 but it says "The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows". should i return this to a single partition in order to install?

  • i have 20gb on a time machine backup it is already partitioned but i want to change the time machine backup to have boot camp installed onto it instead i have a windows vista install disk how can i install vista onto that partition?

  • I am on macbook pro and when i go onto Boot Camp Assistant ( Because i want sony vegas on my macbook pro). I get this message

    "The disk cannot be partitioned because some files cannot be moved.

    Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again."

    Help me i dont know what to do. Thanks
