A recent trip on Chicago's Tri-State Tollway. It was compressed from a 52-minute ride into 10 minutes (ha, like you could actually drive that fast in Chicago.) Anyways, enjoy.

For those of you who don't live in or around Chicago, the Tri-State Tollway is one of the principal bypasses around the Chicago area (the other being the North-South Tollway.) The Tri-State was constructed from the mid to late 1950's, expecting growth from the Northern, Western, and Southern suburbs of Chicago. Today, the road also serves as a principal road for all road transportation entering Chicago from the Northeast to the northern Midwest. Interstate 80, a major linkage in the Interstate system, is part of the Tri-State for its first few miles before diverging towards northern Illinois towards the Quad Cities.

  • Were you going north or south?

  • I was heading northbound from about the Thornton Quarry to just south of Lake-Cook Road (due to time restrictions, I couldn't post about the last ten seconds exiting onto that road).

  • There is always road construction in Chicago..

  • @wlad1969 45 mph

  • this is time lapsed

  • @wlad1969 The cops don't bother you unless you're doing over 80 on most of that highway.

  • You need to get an I-Pass

  • For Milwaukee12, have some punishment for those who disregard the speed limit?

  • @wlad1969 Speed limit is 55 but most go about 75-80.

  • What is the temperature in Chicago?

Brasi in the summer, the hottest region, it reaches to + 45 ° C, and winter, the coldest region, get to do - 5 º C (degrees Celsius)

In New York, in hell, enough to make - 20 º C.

What is the temperature in summer and winter in Chicago?

  • What is the maximum speed allowed on this road ?

  • Its bumpy because the pavement has to be replaced. This will be all taken care of by the end of 2009.
