In this equine-assisted session, a clinical psychologist uses behavior modification with a horse, as she demonstrates for children the concept of boundaries. As she employs clear body language, timing and consistency, the horse is beginning to understand that he is expected to stay a safe distance away from the children. This helps the children understand that they also must be clear, consistent and firm in their efforts to set boundaries with others. Equine-assisted programs offer a unique, powerful, and engaging "classroom" environment for children to learn social skills, non-verbal communication and relationship skills.
