I remember watching this at night when I was a few days shy of 16, I thought Lennon was so cool, now I'm 24 years older than he was then . And he's still so cool........and I'm so old:-(

@UltimateVenom Beatles only sang english songs so that's why I said american and british. But you're right as well.
-
@IbteeDApunisher why not just say all modern music now lasts for a couple of weeks but the beatles forever?
-
Although that was funny, you have to wonder if the person purposely misspelled Jons name as "Lemmon". Maybe its just me but you never know what political little jabs may have occurred there.
-
@tepporocks I have to agree. Dick Cavett is one of the few talk show hosts who seemed genuine.

New American and British music lasts for atmost couple of weeks but The Beatles will live on forever.

these people are so lucky...........so close to John lennon.
Dick Cavett, was in my opinion the greatest show host ever to grace American television.
Carson may have had a wider audience and Letterman (pre-scandal) an even bigger one, but Cavett matched them (as well as surpassed them) in terms of wit, fierce intelligence and humour.
He was also an extremely effective interviewer and I've never seen any of his guests be insulted in any way. He was simply good enough to get the answers without such tactics.
Great!
