An 8mm film of Taff Vale Railway No. 28 Class O1 0-6-2T (GWR 450) under restoration at Caerphilly c1975 with GWR 2-6-0 No. 5322 providing brakevan rides during a fund raising open day. This loco is now at Didcot. For update on TVR loco see http://www.deanforestrailway.co.uk/loco_tvr28.html

  • I remember the Caerphilly Railway Society before it got burgled into oblivion...a real shame it closed, spent many happy sundays there as a kid with my dad. Any idea what happened to the signalbox?

  • I think the Great Western signal box was moved to the Teifi Valley Railway in 1998 where it awaits restoration. No. 28 now belongs to the National Railway Museum and is awaiting restoration at the Dean Forest Railway.
