The Ghost Shirt, by Timewasters

This is an original song inspired by Charlie Allan, Chieftain of the Clanranald Trust for Scotland. Charlie had found out that the Sioux Nation were trying to retrieve their stolen Ghost Shirt from the Scottish Museum, Kelvingrove, Glasgow. The Ghost Shirt had been taken by Bill Cody from the body of a murdered Sioux Tribesman after the Wounded Knee Massacre carried out by the 7th US Cavalry, and used with many other artefacts which had been removed from the dead, on "Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show". He toured the world and made his fortune with the Wild West Show. When the show stopped in Glasgow in 1890 the Museum bought the Ghost Shirt. Now in a drawn out Court Case the Museum insisted the Shirt was legally theirs. Charlie and his band Saor Patrol, meanwhile, collected signatures from the Scottish Public demanding the shirt be returned every time they played and he presented thousands of signatures to the Sioux. This action assisted in collapsing the case made by the Museum and the Sioux returned home with their property.

It is because we regard the earth as sacred," Westerman says in the series of recordings. "Our Mother is a sacred entity." Westerman said it is important to educate people that the people coming across the border are Indian people. Speaking on broken treaties, Westerman said, "The United States of America is an occupation of Indian land." With warnings for America and its spiritual state, he said, "You shouldn't let the dollar control what you are doing." "America, you won't be here long." Westerman said great changes are coming and when one looks at evolution, one knows, "It is time."
