    What is the tool you used to press the gear teeth into the plastic wheel?

    

  • I had to make it myself and I wouldn't trust it to cut anything harder than plastic.

    I wanted to buy a cutter but they were just too expensive. I found some places that would let me rent one for a few hundred dollar but I didn't like that option either.

  • Oops, forgot to ask. Is this your personal CNC? They are expensive. I'm building my 4th micromouse where I want to use gears. How can I make some?

  • Thank you! It is my on machine but it was not that expensive. I bought the second-operation turret lathe used on eBay and did my own cnc retro-fit. I used gecko stepper drivers and Mach3 software.

    If space is an issue, you could do the same thing on a mini lathe and put gang tooling on a cross-slide.
