  • If you have not got this working yet, I think you have the wrong type of Hall Effect sensor, you need a Linear Hall Effect Sensor, not the regular switching Hall Effect.

  • @xmodalloy

    Really?III Thank you.

I never did get it going, and I know the diagram and set up was correct.

    That makes perfect sense.

If I can find some time this summer to work on this project, I will seek out a "linear Hall Effect Sensor".

If that works you are my new hero.

    thank you very much!

  • Nice informative video there bud. I don't know if I'm getting old though as I'm having trouble hearing you over the rock.

  • Sorry about that.

I tried to adjust the volume in movie maker, but I did'nt do so well.

Next time I'll turn it way down.

    Thanks for watching my vid.

  • Reed switches bite! :) I am having trouble getting my Newman going myself... well next week going full tilt.

  • Hi Mart!

If I'm sucsesfull with this circuit, I wont have to struggle with reed switches anymore.

The Daftman uses this circuit on his newman motors.

We've all seen how kick ass they are.

The schematic is on the TEEP forum.

    Give it a go bro!

  • The HE sensor will add a lot of life and reliability to your motor, but not a lot of torque. The way to get torque is to use more magnet / electromagnet pairs, or to use a double-d configuration with a ring magnet.

  • @Eddiev1985 it's just possible, I am not totally sure, but it's something to try.

  • the magnets are to close to the sensor

try to put the sensor a way fron the magnet if that works then put a smoler magnet in the sensor

  • Well Eddie it seems my post as been removed for your reply above if you need any help getting this hall running you know i will be on TEEP. GOOD LOOK

  • Hi Boss!

    I bought a mosfet today, its a IRFA1Z0

I found the schematic and printed it out.

    Thanks!

I couldnt find a IRF9520, so I hope this will work.

I wasnt necesarily going for speed, I'd be happy just getting the thing to spin at this point.

Wish me luck, I'll give it a try this weekend.
