I'm so glad I found this video. My great grandmother used to crochet before she passed and I never had an interest in it until about an hour ago when I started feeling crafty. Being 19 not alot of people my age crochet so it's going to be hard for me to learn but your videos are very instructional and I feel I could retain the information very well. I look forward to crocheting my first blanket or hat very soon. Thank you for helping me get started and I will continue watching your videos to le

Thank you so much for these videos!! I learned how to knit using YouTube and howcast but couldn't get crocheting using the same methods at all!! I just found your videos tonight, needing to learn to crochet for my daughter's Halloween bag, and they're super helpful! I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find something to help me learn and her costume would go unfinished, I'm knitting the rest of it. Again, thank you!

Great video!!! I am now on my first steps of crocheting!!!
Thankyou so much for your videos, they have been really helpful. One question though. When i finish my first square, i find it is more rounded than yours. Am i making it too loose or too tight?

@Loganzweb It does look round on the first part. I pull on the corner chains to make it look more square.

This is not nearly as similar to knitting as I had hoped it would be.

@thisindianajo If you look up the Tunisian crochet (aka the afghan stitch) it is a little more similar to knitting. The video I have on the crochet convertible is a slip stitch technique that results in a fabric very similar to knitting. But generally crochet is a completely different type of needlework, as different from knitting as weaving is. I find it useful to learn several differnt needlework techniques.

@jordanparshallabc I'm sorry that is happening. Put it down for a while and simply watch the video a few times. Then walk away. Than later watch it again, then pick up the work & try again. Or, you could try another learn to crochet video. My back to basics series is newer and done with a better camera.
