@stoxocube18 Eh it's hard to say as I've never seen the full film. I can say though that if the DT's don't hit you within a day or so, then all is well. At least that's my experience. The worst parts are the next day things.

@MidnightSundowns Am i right in saying this clip is slightly inaccurate as the guy goes into delirium tremens very shortly after having had a swig on that bottloe of alcohol? I always thought delirium tremens occured around 16-48 hours after alcohol cessation?

@stoxocube18 I've been drinking pretty much non-stop for 6 years every night.

@MidnightSundowns If you don't mind me asking, how mcuh were you drinking and for how long? You don't have to say it's just I get myself abit wound up about stuff like that. Like I've convinced myself I had liver cirrhosis even when my LFTs came back normal! Just abit of a hypochondriac and what the chap on the video seems to be going through doesn't look like a picnic...

@stoxocube18 I get that way too... It'll last for two days at the max and after your liver processes it you'll stop shaking. You won't have a seizure, but you'll be out of touch with things for a while. Sober up when you don't have any responsibilities to take care of.

@MidnightSundowns Okay well prior to drinking 350ml vodka a day I was probably downing 26 units of alcohol a day (assuming your from the UK 26 units is equivalent to a fifth of liquor). I'm just very worried that if I suddenly stop I will have a seizure or a psychotic episode as, in the past, if I don't drink for a day I feel my heart starting to race and I suddenly lose touch with reality and need to drink in order to regain a sense of self.

@stoxocube18 Speaking from experience, you are at very little to no risk. The DT's are a combination of genetics and how much you drink. Even at 350ml a day (assuming a day?) You're at very little risk. The DT's are caused by severe prolonged binges followed by abrupt cessation. I've had the DT's a few times, it's very much like this video, it's beyond terrible and lasts for day and days. Personally I was physically incapacitated and couldn't get out of bed without throwing up profusely.

@Severddans how much were you drihnking to get to that stage? im on 350ml of vodka a day and havve been for 4 months cutting it down to 250 ml and eventually 100 and should be stopped all together by new year. am i at risk of this?>!!
