@Trustisaliability Understandable, but the Secret Service doesn't operate under the idea that such a large-scale attempt on the President's life can't possibly be carried out in Britain, ergo the extra protection provided by the Cadillac One is unnecessary. As your nickname says, trust is a liability. We're your friends and we love you, but that doesn't mean our security standards for the President will be bypassed just so as to not "offend" you by turning down your Range Rovers.

I know there are different levels of bulletproofing. I also know that a police/DPG range rover is capably of withstanding a shoot out.

The Cadillac can withstand whatever it likes but let's be honest if anything capable of taking out the range rover (let alone the cadillac) slips under the radar it's an epic security services fail. It is highly unlikely that anything of that caliber would make it into Britain.

Sure, the Range Rover can survive a shootout, but the Cadillac has MILITARY-GRADE ARMOR. It is fitted to withstand chemical attacks or even rockets, for fuck's sake. Not the Range Rover. Do you think if terrorists want to attack the US President they'll just open fire with a .45? No, they'll probably think a little bigger, buddy.

Range Rover/Cadilac, it makes no difference, they're both as good as each-other once they've been bullet proofed.

The point is that a small convoy is easy to maneuver and can evade dangerous situations easily, it could even change it's route, whereas a convoy this size is a giant target which has very limited capacity for changing route.

@Trustisaliability Absolutely not. Your assessment couldn't be more inaccurate. Explosives and chemicals don't discriminate between flashy and non-flashy cars. The point of the presidential limousine, in case you haven't noticed, is not to trick hostiles into thinking the President is in another car. Their point is to be as safe as possible. And I'm afraid to tell you that an unmarked Range Rover will succumb to *much* less than what the Cadillac One is able to withstand.
