  • @farodemon I thnk it's a good idea to speak w a counselor/ advisor at your school. The sooner the better. I am 31 and I just got diagnosed, w ADD. I was never hyper active but always mentally scaped. No one ever thought that I might have ADD... And pls do not self medicate w drugs. They can throw off your brain chem even more. But if they are gives by a Dr. they can be very effective. Hope it all workout for U!. Best.

  • I am 31, have a dual BA in Architectural studies & Psych. I am in grad school and just got diagnosed w ADD. I am not hyper active, over the yrs I learned to manage sme of the symptoms but I always have had problems w concentration.

  • wow, now i know i have ADD! I gotta go see a doctor!

  • I have been diagnosed with ADHD,Major Depression,Disthymia,/ocd,/ocpd,Socail anxiety disorder and addiction.I live in Canada and psychologists are not covered here.Only psychiatrists.Even if there was help it would be a never ending uphill battle.

  • @farodemon - It's terrible that people think it's crap. I usually don't even tell people about it and I shrug it off. It's overwhelming and not worth it to have people coming at me saying that I need to "get over it" and I'm just lazy and I could do it "if I really wanted to." People that don't have ADHD/ADD just don't understand most of the time. They don't realise people with ADHD/ADD would LOVE to do those things like everybody else.

  • Alter the individual and you alter the social. This list of symptoms, of child and adult, is no more than those behaviors deemed willful, disruptive, troubling, etc. This discussion of "symptom" recognition (not that of disease "sign") is suggestive of the latter. As a state licensed mental health professional, and a member of a secular "clergy", Mr. Bosworth serves the status quo, by deflecting attention away from the larger problems, and placing societal issues squarely on the "disordered".

  • @krammer66 Depending on the severity of your symptoms, you should look into getting the proper medication and follow up with therapy.

  • This is no bs. I'm 16 and I have ADD. No one would belive me if I told anyone and its so bad cuase everyday when you wake up its like 1000 channels of a tv on at once and at some points you can't focus so much it feels like you don't even exist. I have to buy the Aderol (ADD medication) from people at my school for any relief, and having no job its very expensive.

  • ironically co-workers or employers first need to realise the person has a problem and is not a bad employee, then has so find interest in adult ADD to even watch this video, in order to "get" this advice, and then try to apply it.

  • I agree, I am 43 male in college for the 4th year and have 30 credits. And I work 20 hours a week no kids living with my parents. How could can I be successful? From Ponte Vedra Beach Fl.
