Nice song from counterparts.
Lyrics:
Where would you rather be?
Anywhere but here
When will the time be right?
Anytime but now
"On the edge of sleep, I was drifting for half the night
Anxious and restless, pressed down by the darkness
Bound up and wound up so tight."
So tight...
"So many decisions, a million revisions
Caught between darkness and light..."
Wilderness of mirrors
World of polished steel
Gears and iron chains
Turn the grinding wheel
I run between the shadows
Some are phantoms, some are real
Where would you rather be?
Anywhere but here
When will the time be right?
Anytime but now
Where would you rather be?
The doubt and the fear
I know would all disappear
Anywhere but here
Anywhere but here...
"On the edge of sleep, I heard voices behind the door
The known and the nameless, familiar and faceless
My angels and my demons at war"
At war...
"Which one will lose depends on what I choose
Or maybe which voice I ignore..."
Wilderness of mirrors
Streets of cold desire
My precious sense of honor
Just a shield of rusty wire
I hold against the chaos
And the cross of holy fire
Wilderness of mirrors
So easy to deceive
My precious sense of rightness
Is sometimes so naive
So that which I imagine
Is that which I believe
"On the edge of sleep, I awoke to a sun so bright
Rested and fearless, cheered by "your nearness
I knew which direction was right
Was right...
"The case had been tried by the jury inside
The choice between darkness and light...
The choice between darkness and light."

Any parent that doesn't allow their children to listen to Rush while in the cradle is depriving said children from forming a basic appreication of music. My girls listend to Rush, Pink Floyd and Metallica along with Motzart and Tchaikovsky. If I didn't have them listen to good music, they might grow up thinking Justin Bieber is a musical genius! Dude I'm 48 and have seen Rush 37 times in 8 states. I met the band before a concert in 1979 at the old Chicago Amphitheater and Geddy let me play his bass for soundcheck (I have pictures). I was smart enough to wait until I was older to get married and I now have an 8 yr old son who LOVES Rush. His mom knows better than to go against that. In fact we got 2nd row for the Apr 12 show at UC. So tell your mom to pound sand and tell your Dad you'll take him to Rush for his birthday.

Yes I was wrong about early in his career, you are right indeed Tama. Looks like around Hold Your Fire is when he switched to Ludwig, as a fan I should know this but your reply made me go and do my research, now I know.

Not to my knowledge. Most of the 'Seventies,Neil used Slingerland
Drums. And from there he moved to Tama Drums. But when Rush's "Roll The Bones" studio-work came along,i think NP moved
on from Tama. But that was twenty years ago and i just can't remember that far back(maybe Neil can't remember that far back, either!!

Neil used Ludwig drums for most of his career until he switched to DW later.

This is what my dad and I have been trying to explain to my mom for years lol. Thankfully my dad made sure I grew up listening to Rush, Genesis, Yes, ELP, and countless other great groups.

My kids grew up on Rush too. I discovered them in 1980.
