Jay Callender (For More Information Call Jay At 707-829-5900) is a graduate of the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine with thirty-seven years of varied and continuous traditional martial arts training, as well as a licensed acupuncturist currently in practice at the Amitabha Medical Clinic and Healing Center in Sebastopol, California. Acupuncture is one of several modalities of Chinese medicine, in which hair-thin needles are inserted at various points of the body to restore energetic balance. Jay performs acupuncture mainly on cancer patients at Amitabha, helping to relieve the many side effects of chemotherapy and radiation—maladies such as dizziness, vertigo, pain, emotional disorders, and edema have also responded very well to his treatments. He explains that his philosophy is that "less is more." While some acupuncturists might choose to use many needles on a new patient, Jay prefers to get to know his patient and understand the true root of the problem—meaning that fewer needles will be required to produce the same effect.
