Don't ever tell kids that wildlife belongs to them... The moment they get off from school they are moving into the closest park to chase the squirrels... Or poke whatever they find with a stick.

@RatongaBruiser My bat has been whith me for 8 years and he's still alive to day no lie. He has be in great care better than what any zoo could offer any animal in 2 weeks.I found him when he was just a baby he was still pink and had no fur.I feed him milk until he was old enogh to eat sold foods.Than started to feed him fruit and insects.His name is fredrick and I love him so much.

Well the point they're making is in California, it's not your right, hehe. They do it to protect them, because most wildlife can't survive well in captivity and bats especially are notorious for dying quickly without proper care.

Yeah. I mean... it'd be a tough rule to enforce. what can you do? Force abortion or take kids away if they have one without a permit? But, they have found that the law passed in China to allow only one kid to a family, and each family wanting a son, has given females their pick of the litter and they pick the cute smart guys so their family will be taken care of and now a noticeable increase in intelligence is being recorded because of the careful selection. Sorry, just fun fact.

i love living in california! Laws and permits for everything!

But trust me, it's better if everyone lets the government tell us what's in our best interest. Because we obviously can't think for ourselves.

I still love the fact that I need to waste $42 on a fishing license just to catch a fish so I can eat. I need to be 18 to purchase a firearm, and vote. I need to be 21 to gamble and buy alcohol, but they'll let anyone have a kid at any age regardless if they can raise it or afford it.
