My earliest awareness of CR was from Sherrif John's 12 noon M-F show, ch 11 KTTV Los Angeles, with one 4-min episode a day (?), ca 1954-55. Obviously loved it. What an intelligent show for small pre-schoolers. Remember little sections of episodes here and there, but especially the opening and closing 10 Little Indians theme. In 1957-58, NBC ran the last 1-hour series, in color, on Saturday mornings. Again, the much longer themes over the credits were so memorable, i memorized each note.
The various "crusades" (stories), 'blondex', varied in length. The shortest was 10 chapters; the longest was 30. Most of them lasted about 15 episodes...
In the words of H G Wells, The Shape of Things to Come: this series was remarkably visionary.

See? That's why i hate this day and age. You can't have a simple fun cartoon for children without people trying to view it as a political tool =/
