I could only hold so much information in my brain for immediate recall. I often leave things out in my exams at school, writing, and speaking. I go back and forth when I write to fill in what I forget. When I speak, I still remember all the important things and people do not know all that I intend to include so no way of knowing if I forget anything. Despite my rarher short working memory, I have become a good communicator.

  • Really? I've heard that individuals with aspergers demonstrate unusually high working memory capacities. I'm almost sure that this has been shown with the administration of the n-back tasks. I also recall aspies, scoring and average of 20% higher on IQ tests saturated with gf (fluid intelligence), such as the Raven's Advanced Progressive Matrices.

  • they let you dp speaches with a voice like that

  • Nice explanation of your working memory problems. There seems to be a common problem in autism for an individual to be able to shift attention between the task (e.g. test) and information in working memory (information for answers). When tasks require you to hold information in your working memory while shifting attention back and forth, it seems to break down.

    Thanks, it was enlightening.
