  • And with the death of Arthas, all of this dissapeared with his death. And, with Ner'zhul destroyed and Arthas dead, Bolvar is the new Lich King, the only one, with a body as Arthas, but in a block of ice as Ner'zhul was withtin the armor. Ner'zhul was the chieftain of the Old Horde, has been a main antagonist in Beyond the Dark Portal and the Lich King through all Warcraft 3 and its exspansion...but give up on it and accept that his time is over.

  • Wrong. Ner'zhul died. Yeah, Ner'zhul was in the armor, but he transfered in arthas body, hey, wasnt that the plan at least ? Ner'zhul is not so special, he was the Lich King, the will and personality that guided the Kil'jaeden's creation, and then the dominant personality became Arthas (instead of both, as Ner'zhul planned) consuming all that was of Ner'zhul (lifetime, knowledge, experience, even his own consciousness) and killing him in the process.

  • Arthas merged with Ner'Zhul but not completely, his plan was almost complete but Arthas refused. He didn't kill Ner'Zhul.

Blizzard did a good thing because if their souls were to completely merge, after the Lich King's death they would've both died, so just Arthas died and Ner'Zhul is still alive and that means that we will see more evil Lich King maybe even in Cataclysm.

  • @misjif2341 retconned = story changed.

  • @misjif2341 -Q. Will Ner'zhul appear at any point in 3.3 or the near future?

    A. Well, he is a chunk of the Lich King now. But if you mean will he appear as an orc, we're not ready to tell his story just yet. We have a lot of stories left to tell, but his is a good one.

^ this is from the wow developers chat on twitter well AFTER that book got released. Ner'zhul is not dead nor is he consumed, he is still alive.

  • @RepublicanNatio Eww, Twitter. Define retconned for me, please :)

  • -Kills the Devs for changing the lore again-

  • @connor1997 *points you towards the wow developers so they can tell you this* the ending of the book was retconned.

  • @Reflox1 the ending of the book was retconned by the developers.

  • @misjif2341 and if you read the twitter chat that the devs held you'd know that the ending of the book got retconned.
