i've been in these and it is really sad having to see them go like that they have really good parts and they should at least save the good parts i wish this never had to happen i am a very conservative person and some change is really hard 4 me

It is a pity that they destroyed them. I think many Eastern European cities wanted to buy it from second hand! Some tram systems in Romania which are fading away in recent years bought second hand trams from Germany and there is a big demand for low floor trams in Europe. Selling could be cheaper than destroying! Which city where they running in and what type replaced them?

As Americans, we have made some very STUPID moves with our municipal/urban & regional transit systems, throughout our nation.. (dismantling of trolley/street car lines, passenger rail service/operation, favoring automobile infrastructure over mass transit, etc)... Man are we paying the price for such negligence today..

Absolutely disgusting. This is your tax dollars at work. Millions were spent to develop and purchase and rehab these vehicles and all to end up in scrap in a landfill. They could have lasted 10-15 years more at least.

Why didn't they sell them like some cities did with the pcc's. In Europe it's cheaper to sell old trams or buses , rather to chop them like this.
