I'm back after watching this a year ago. It's nice to see people still bitching about the person in the video
On a side note: After listening to SO much more music, I can say this sounds like Coldplay a little. Only it's not whiny bullcrap

Yeah not a bad cover but seriously what the fuck does it matter about sexual preference? Seriously, why can't we fucking live a world where we judge people on their human traits? Sexual preference makes no fucking difference to what kind of person someone is.

The distorted voice sucks, the piano sounds feel like a Tori Amos rip off, the harmony of the original is missing. It would only get 2/10 because of the awesome original. But even listening to the Pixies's version while being beaten on the ears with a shovel would be more fun than listening to this crap.
TL;DR: This cover sucks.

Stop judging this based on the vocalist's sexual preference. It should have no impact on your opinion of the song. In the twenty-first century, we should be past thinking like this but sadly we aren't.
Anyway I like the alternative take on this song, but I don't think Frank Black meant this song to be sung so intensely. The artist could do a great job with other songs, but The Pixies were a bit more lighthearted than what he is portraying it as. Anyway I think its good, similar to Bowie.
