Had 4 great flights on this beautiful model. Trimmed for perfect flights. Well when I got to the NEAT Fair we noticed that the right aileron was up about 5mm. I forgot that it was trimmed that way on purpose. Guess what happened after lift off of the first flight...rolled and the tip caught the grass. Not good.

  • I mixed my own colors using Applebarrel Craft paint from Michael's. I brushed it on with a foam brush

  • did it come with a pilot?

  • @rg26100 No. I bought the pilot but at a model show a long time ago.

  • If that was a torque roll at the start did you get it sorted out with out using the trim? i would of tried a washer or two on the top and bottom of the motor mount screws on the right hand side as your looking at the motor,i would of thought a few grams of weight at the wing tips would be ok but i never like adding weight to a foamie this small any where, well thats what i always do with a plane that has to much torque because of the motor and it always works well for me ;-)

  • @startazz-- Combination of a fairly large prop and a larger than necessary outrunner caused the torque roll. It has plenty of right and down on the motor. I didn't want to add more just because I over motored it. My fault for not being quick enough on the sticks. I trimmed it out on later flights. A few grams of weight out at the wing tip won't be felt by this model. It's a great model-- flies great, looks great.

  • When will you go NEAT?

  • @MingLou -- Ming- I'll be going back this coming September. I plan to bring your new Hawker Hurricane with me!

  • can you tell me what paint you used on the plane? I am mainly wondering about the blue.

  • @givemetoast -- Yes it was. I'm sure of that now. If I build another I will try something that was in the AMA magazine last year: add a few grams of weight to the right wingtip. This is a great flying model. Looks fantastic in the air. I love climbing to altitude and then diving down steeply with the dive flaps down all the way. So cool.

  • Give Coco the camera next time!
