Most of us never consider how graphics stop readers. In a matter of seconds, a graphic can stop a reader from skimming. A graphic gives specific information both visually and in captions. And slows down the skimming. It also creates anticipation.

  • Sean's note: This video is an example of how content alone is not good enough. While you can see that the content is interesting and valuable, you do get a feeling of being rushed through the video—almost like the audio is not in sync with the video. This has been done on purpose for this video. It's been done to demonstrate how deliver-ability of content matters. I'll post another video after this one, to show you how a slight difference in delivery makes a big difference.

  • There's nothing as effective as teaching by example, both good and bad. Thanks, Sean, for a very effective demonstration of the almost, but not quite good.
