you're right on no year zero, but decades are arbitrary anyway, as is all human measurements of time. However the so called 2000s is every year starting with 200X just as the 90s was every year starting with 199X, 2000 was not in the 90s

although we created it doesn't make it right to name it the beginning of a new decade. it would be the same if i decided to change pie aka 3.14159 because humans created it. its wrong. if we created it that way and have been following the calendar this long then we should stick to it.
