You need to have the tank 2/3 full of water, and have a dock like spanky said, so your turtle has a proper home.

Nice set up, but you need a dock or some plants with suction cups in the tank for the turtle to get up and out of the water so he doesn't need to tread water all day. It may drown. Maybe even a taller piece of drift wood. Check out mine on u-tube. I have the water filled up higher, but only have a 40 watt light bulb for basking on top so it doesn't get too hot. I keep the temp. in the high 80's for basking. Good luck.
