Skye does a wonderful job. As far as the comment below about the "old guy pervert" standing there watching her, it is her father WAYNE DYER, and Skye was appearing on stage with her dad. I wish people wouldn't make negative and suggestive comments without getting the facts first.

all you naysayers shut the f up. she's awesome.

Unfortunately, and also tragically it is part of the end of the USA founding fathers generation, the country is dead and she is just singing on in the death knell to it. This is equivalent of "Miss South carolina" and of course you would not get that because you are part of the retarded degenerate moth ball of crap that some people still call America or whatever you want to call it..........
You are disgraced.

She could have sung it right, but I hate it every time when a singer goes, "With eyes that know the darkness in my sou-ou-oul." They warble all the pure notes that are supposed to be full of emotion to add variety. If anyone who sings that way reads this, please change your singing. You'll find the outcome is much more beautiful.

I am an artist and this version of the song touches me like no other. When I feel down and frustrated I play it several times and feel refreshed. She sang it from her heart.

To all the ignorants and snobs (a more frequent combination than one would think) who have rushed to denigrate this young woman (without probably really listening to her), you are obviously getting everything mixed up here. Of course Don McLean is a fabulously gifted and sensitive songwriter (that I dearly love myself), but I honestly don't think he would have been unhappy with this version. The interpretation here is original, lovely and full of well-assumed feelings. Applause for that singer!
