sometimes it works to cast a girl in a male role. for example when i was in little shop of horrors we had a very saucy female playing the voice of the plant and it was FABULOUS.

When we sang Prince Ali, we had some of the ensemble get one of those carry things and carry Aladdin down the aisles and he threw gold coins and necklaces into the audience. everyone was like, WHOOOOOOO! bahahaha

our school is doing this play. im a narrator but i really wanted to be jasmine =( at least i got the 2nd part i wanted...

and to SebKFrenchie, im the genie in my school's production, and im a girl. one of my friends who is a girl is the other genie, and she is also a girl.

We're doing this at my school and the only boys are the guards, Jafar, the Sultan, Aladdin (Of course), the Genie, and 4 boys in the ensemble

so that was pretty good. however, there was someone in there singing who was extremly pitchy.
