Robin Henkel (steel guitar) rehearses with Steve Nichols (guitar), Clark Stacer (bass) and Joey Galvin (snare drum) at The Blue Guitar in San Diego about 2003. The tune is "Maria" composed by Robin Henkel. It can be heard on Robin's CD "Steel Guitar Lounge." © Robin Henkel

  • The tuning is (from low to high) B D F# G# C# E I think of it as E13.

I don't know if Steve Nichols is related to John Nichols. I'll have to ask him.

    Thanks for listening.

  • Robin, Just checking into Laps. What tuning are you playing? I always thought laps were the first magical sounding instrument long before Moogs

  • Buddy, you are the best - a little weird, but very very fine player / singer. Almost

    forgot, writer too.....

  • Robin,

Is Steve related to John Nichols, who played bass with the late great Smith Dobson in San Jose's Garden City for so many years? If he is, that's a great jazz pedigree.
