Boredom plays a significant role in substance abuse. By becoming aware of the causes of boredom, as well as developing a strategy to deal with your boredom hopefully you will be less likely to suffer from addiction. People often turn to substance abuse to deal with their boredom. Dr. Richard Fields of http://www.mysoberlife.com discusses techniques to help deal with boredom using mindfulness. Instead of isolating and turning to drugs and alcohol take a proactive role to overcome your boredom and prevent reliance on drug abuse.
