Now that I have heard that 4449's old whistle sounds sour, if you listen closely it does sound sour.

yah no offense to BNSF but their mainlines are in no condition to run any locomotive at 110 MPH, If the railroads took care of their mainline track like they did back in the 40's, 50's, and 60's I am sure BNSF would have no problem with actually pulling that throttle back but now a days a lot of locomotives and cars can compensate for bad track to a point. So they don't worry about the track quite as much.
