They clearly have NOT done this for all of their 747s. I just flew BKK-FRA last week on one very aged 747. Sorry Thai, but your old economy product sucks.

The reason for Thai to refit their 747-400 fleet is that they has got so many complains about their old worn out interior and are losing customers due to that. The other reason is the workload on the cabin crew since passengers get bored on long flights without anything to do. Those big 80`s charter screens for movies don´t go well with smooth as silk. Well it took only 5 years for Thai to respond to the critics and it will take to late 2012 to refit all their 747.

@19bootsy68 for the past years, thai has purchased many new aircrafts, but not 747-400, like many other airlines, their 747 400 r pretty aged, and soon will no longer be used in the fleet. I guess the reason why they had to refit this 747 400 was coz these models r used for some major european routes. On other smaller models, like 777, airbus 330, 350 360, thai have long had new seats tv. The funniest was the first plane which got refitted was the retiring md 11, used for some few months.

Thais B747.400's were 2 decades old without PTV's...now all Thai needs is to drop their prices in all classes and get the paying flyers back...33 to 34 inches of legroom and PTV's in every seat is fantastic.....the first time my friends and i went to Thailand it was with Thai....maybe one day i might try Thai again....but thats only when i know it's a refitted B747.400.
