as far as i can tell, the exhaust fan is the metal blade variant. it is an easy fix, i even have several spare blades to fix those fans. i have one unit myself and the fan in where i live recently shorted out, so i just replaced the motor. it's an easy fix.
This is actually the late-60's, early-70's or mid-70's Air King bathroom exhaust fan, and it sounds like the bearings on the fan motor needs a good oiling or the motor could burn out. It doesn't blow air, but it exhausts bad odors and steam through the bath fan grille and out the vent outside the rooftop or the wall side of the house.
It sounds like there is a rock inside it!
