  • Does anyone know where this video was shot?

  • @kaisergrendel

Opening in HAKUBA -- so much snow... the latter half in Nagoya.

  • @Gimmeaflakeman Wow, that's interesting since I hear Tokyo doesn't get much snow! Is it always like that in winter?

  • @kaisergrendel

Actually I'm a few hours West of Tokyo in a city called NAGOYA.

  • Your videos help me so much in my quest to tackle the Japanese language. I had almost given up a while back because I was overwhelmed with all of the new things I had to learn. You've motivated me to start working at it again. I know I can do it! I was in Nichinan and Miyazaki City for a few days last summer, and I got compliments on my Japanese, what little I knew. Were they just being nice to me? Or did they really think my pronunciation was good?

Easy answer. Think of A and THE in English. Use A the first time in front of a noun the first time it appears in a conversation and use THE after that.

犬がいる。/ Inu ga iru. = There is a dog.

あなたの犬は健康ですか/Anata no inu wa kenkou desuka?= Is your dog healthy?

In the 2nd sentence we know the dog already exists so we don't use GA.

So... "yuki ga futteiru" implies this is news to the listener. Get it?

Read up more on this on the net, but that's my explanation. There's more to it, but no room!

  • is it wrong saying 雨が降っています。(Ame ga futte imasu) ?? or what's the difference between these 2 scentences ? Thanks.

  • good video, for Japanese lesson!!!

    oh, I'm Japanese.

  • @Gimmeaflakeman Yeah sorry should've been clearer, I meant how Tokyo is roughly in the same latitude as Nagoya but receives much less snow.

  • @SteJvlog because she's a bitch we wouldn't like it? XD

  • I think you need a bigger shovel lol.

  • My dog's name is Yuki, it's a Japanese Spitz! But I don't think he'll be happy to know Yuki is a girl's name...

  • Nice video!

    Nice shoveling!

    Nice teaching!
